These photographs show a pair of super clean coolant storage tanks that form part of a complete system recently installed at a major international engine manufacturing company. Each tank has a capacity of 1600 litres and includes all pumps, sensors and controls necessary to provide a clean coolant supply to the tool work points. This project also includes swarf conveyors, a large paper band filter, coolant flow channels and all the required pipework. Cromar undertook all elements of design, manufacture and installation.

Swarf management systems

Specialist aerospace applications used on deep hole machines. The conveyors are designed with additional wear plates due to the abrasive qualities and the discharge pressures of the titanium. Due to Health and safety, environmental issues; the conveyor is supplied with a bunded tank and is equipped with two off pressure pumps, one of which is on standby in case of any failure with primary pump. The conveyor is delivering oil to the central tank for processing and re-distribution to the machine.

The system is designed/ manufactured and installed for a European aerospace manufacture for manufacturing landing gear undercarriage support.
